Course Description

“Phychoneuroimmunology”, the word of the millennium that means “wholistic care.” This course examines the body/mind connection, exploring ways to release healing energy by working through negative thoughts and emotions and fostering hope, love and peace.

Purpose and Objectives

This course is offered to increase your ability to support a patient mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in the healing process. At the completion of the course, you will be able to

    • Relate the chemical and physiological connections between the mind (the mental, emotional and spiritual) and the body (the physical disease).

    • Review attitudes within the health care system regarding the role and importance of the mind in the healing process, and identify your own attitude.

    • Identify the variety of “alternative” methods used world wide to enhance healing.

  • Explore teaching you can use within our current health care system to catalyze and support the body’s own healing mechanisms, including: ways to deal with feelings of anger, powerlessness, loneliness and guilt; and ways to foster self acceptance, love, hope and faith.
