This course provides an update of information about the Human Immune Virus. It is a valid course for all the states in which our courses are approved, but it has been designed to meet the specific requirements for the Florida.
Purpose and Objectives
This course is offered to increase the healthcare professional’s understanding of HIV and AIDS. At the completion of the program, the healthcare professional will be able to:
- Describe how HIV/AIDS has increased and in what populations.
- Understand how the virus attacks, the incubation period and the modes of transmission of the virus.
- Identify infection control practices and precautions for health care workers.
- List steps that can be taken to prevent the spread of HIV.
- Summarize the clinical progression, testing, and treatment objectives of the patient with HIV.
- Recognize the state’s attempt to prevent discrimination and provide confidentiality to all.
