Course Description
This course provides a review and update of information about HIV and AIDS. It is a valid course for all states in which our courses are approved or accepted, but it has been designed to meet the specific requirements for Florida.
Purpose and Objectives
This course increases the healthcare worker’s understanding of HIV and AIDS. At the completion of the course you will be able to:

- List the modes of transmission of the virus.
- Identify infection control practices and precautions for health care workers.
- List steps that can be taken to prevent the spread of HIV.
- Summarize the clinical progression, testing, & treatment objectives of the patient with HIV.
- Recognize the state’s attempt to prevent discrimination and provide confidentiality to all.
About the Author

Linda is the educational administrator, author and instructor for Consultants for the Future. She is a graduate from Iowa State University and Columbia Pacific University and was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities as a doctorial student. Her clinical experiences include acute and long term care, including experience as a flight nurse in the US Air Force and as an educator in a college based nursing program.
