“Cogito Ergo Sum” is Latin for “I think, therefore I am.” In this course you will learn how the nature of our own thinking processes either empowers us or weakens us. Then you will begin to recognize how each of us can choose to change our thinking, to create better options. We don’t have to fight our way to the top. We don’t have to fight at all. We just need to begin thinking about how we think. We are much more than we recognize, and much more than we are expressing to the world. Our empowerment begins, however, by studying how we express ourselves to ourselves. It’s an internal journey.
Purpose and Objectives
This course is designed to help you form an empowered way of thinking. At the conclusion of the course you will be able to:
- Recognize paradigms within the healthcare professions that foster codependency and low self-esteem.
- Understand self-talk as the origin of feelings, empowerment and self-esteem.
- Identify irrational thought patterns that are self-limiting.
- Begin an empowered, interdependent definition of self by identifying personal and professional life-guiding principles, values and beliefs.
